Easy open ends are manufactured from aluminum coil through feeding, stamping, scoring, riveting, and tab forming. The process produces SOT or RPT mechanisms on B64 or CDL profile shells. Watch our easy open end production video above for a visual walkthrough.
An easy open end is a pre-scored aluminum lid with an integrated tab that lets consumers open the can without a separate can opener.
We produce 202 B64 SOT, 202 B64 RPT, 202 CDL SOT, 202 CDL RPT, 200 CDL SOT, 200 CDL RPT, 202 full aperture, and 209 B64 SOT ends.
SOT (Stay-on-Tab) keeps the tab attached after opening for safety and recycling. RPT (Ring Pull Tab) fully removes the tab for a traditional opening experience.
B64 is the standard beverage can end profile with a deeper countersink and wider opening. CDL (Compact Diameter Lid) has a shallower countersink and smaller diameter, giving sleek and slim cans a more refined, premium appearance.
A B64 can end is the industry-standard beverage can lid profile with a 60-degree countersink angle and wider panel opening. It is the most widely used profile for beer, carbonated soft drinks, and energy beverages worldwide.
